Memorial Program
Looking to cherish the memory of someone who loved the game of golf at KGCC? We have a memorial tree or bench program to honor a friend or loved one who once walked this course.
PROTECTING & ENHANCING OUR TREE POPULATION
At Kamloops Golf & Country Club, one of our greatest assets is the stunning tree population that graces our course. These trees not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of our property but also set us apart from other courses in the area. They provide shade for our patrons and habitat for wildlife. It is our responsibility to care for and protect these valuable assets, ensuring their health and longevity. However, if left unaddressed, they can also present significant liabilities.
Our assessments will prioritize safety and tree health. If a tree is deemed dead, dying, or poses an imminent safety risk, it will be promptly removed. Additionally, we are committed to planting new trees in 2025, with plans to continue planting in the years ahead. We have selected the Celebration Maple as our tree of choice due to its quick growth, deep roots, salt tolerance, and beautiful fall color. A committee is being formed to help determine the best locations for new trees. This committee will include members, golfers, maintenance staff, and management, with the goal of ensuring new tree placements align with the course’s design and ease of maintenance. With Mike Graas and Peter Statsmann already committed, we are seeking one or two more individuals to join.
If you are interested in volunteering for this committee or have any questions, please contact Nathan Hagel at superintendent@kamloopsgolfclub.com.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of our course.

KGCC MEMORIAL FLAG
At Kamloops Golf & Country Club, we honor the memory of our members who have passed away by lowering the KGCC flag to half-mast. As a sign of respect and remembrance, a notice will also be placed beside the flagpole to acknowledge their passing and recognize their connection to our club community.

MEMORIAL TREE & BENCH PROGRAM
As part of our ongoing commitment to honoring the legacy of our members, Kamloops Golf & Country Club offers a memorial tree and bench program. Members who have passed away can be commemorated with a tree planted in their memory on the course, creating a lasting tribute that contributes to the natural beauty of our grounds. Alternatively, families and friends may choose to purchase a memorial bench, complete with a personalized plaque to celebrate their loved one’s connection to the club. These meaningful additions not only honor those we’ve lost but also enhance the experience for all who enjoy our course.
Below is an image of the composite bench style we’ll be using, along with a course map showing current bench locations.
• Red triangles indicate existing old-style benches that are eligible for replacement.
• Yellow-starred benches are in urgent need of replacement.
• Blue triangles represent existing memorial benches already in place.
