PGA of BC Buying Show

Our professional team attended the annual PGA of BC Buying Show to scout out the latest fashions and technology for the 2018 golf season. The event is hosted at the Richmond Oval and allows to meet with all our vendors, sales reps as well as network with fellow professionals. Brice also received recognition as Regional Recipient of the PGA of BC Professional Development Award.

A few thoughts from the 2018 Buying Show:

Alec Hubert

2017-10-11 14.13.57Alec has sourced out a new brand for our Pro Shop in 2018 – Under Armour. They have great performance fabrics, reasonable pricing and considerable momentum with players like Jordan Spieth on the PGA and Mathew Fitzpatrick on the European Tour wearing their products. Alec predicts both our men and lady members will love the fabrics, especially in the Kamloops heat. They are designed to keep the body cool and dry and have a great style to the line.

Brice MacDermott

2017-10-12 10.52.15Brice doesn’t have to wait as long for his top to arrive. The Pro Shop will be carrying winter coats and vests from Trimark and KGCC branded Roots hoodies this winter. Arriving in time for Christmas shopping, men’s and ladies’ Trimark coats and vests are light weight down, perfect for those winter walks or sitting in the rink watching hockey. Brice and Lindsay have both ordered some for themselves so you’ll see them in action!

But that’s not all, Brice is also excited for a brand new junior line to arrive in the spring. A new Canadian company, Swing specializes exclusively in junior golf apparel. Fun colours, performance fabrics and great value. We think these will be a great addition to our Pro Shop next season.

Andrew Bentley

2017-10-12 11.32.48Andrew had his first taste of the PGA Buying Show. He is most excited about introducing a new equipment brand to KGCC. Ping has a great new line of clubs coming out for the 2018 season, including the G400 series. He loves the look of the driver, the cool features on the head and simple adjustability. There are a couple of different Ping irons available next season and Andrew predicts the line will be very popular at the club.

With the equipment also comes the fitting cart! We will be able to fit players and find the perfect club for their game. This will be a great addition to our Titleist and Callaway fitting carts and allow us to offer a complete fitting system.

Did you know we sell a lot of hats? It may be a simple product, but Andrew is quite excited about the new line of Ping hats. They have the classic styling which is always popular, but the new style which features different patches and mountain designs looks very sharp and will be perfect for Kamloops!

Lindsay MacDermott

2017-10-11 15.51.27Lindsay was on the hunt for a few special requests from the membership – pink towels and Zero Friction ladies one size gloves in leather. Both are on their way this spring, plus a Zero Friction camo glove that Lindsay thinks the guys will love.

Lindsay’s big find however is a new ladies line – Dexim. This is a Canadian company with great styling, easy wear and care fabrics and a fantastic price point. With sizes ranging from XS to XXL, there will be something for everyone. Lindsay is most excited for the dresses, which come with separate shorts that have pockets! Of course she has a few personals on order too to model at the club and on the teaching tee.
