Gearing up for 2019
The Professional staff attended the PGA of BC Buying Show in Richmond, BC this past October. Brice, Alec, Bentley and Lindsay scoped out the latest equipment technology and fashion trends while placing orders to be delivered to our Pro Shop in Spring 2019. They are excited to share what’s coming down the pipe for KGCC.
Alec – Linksoul, Super Stroke Traxion Claw grip, Imperial rope hats
Linksoul is California based brand that is fairly new to the golf industry. It has great vibes and an awesome assortment of lifestyle tees in addition to the golf pieces. If you watch the Golf Channel, you may have noticed that Matt Ginella is a Linksoul brand ambassador.
The Super-Stroke Traxion Claw putter grip is a putter grip that is specifically designed for people who employ the “claw” style grip. This method is becoming increasingly popular and helps golfers control the putter face with precision. The grip comes in two sizes, 1.0 and 2.0 and Alec is pretty excited for it to arrive!
The custom logo Imperial rope hat is created just for us through G&G Golf Company. It’s an old school style that’s becoming very popular again. Imperial has been selling these tons of these rope hats to Justin Timberlake in recent months. This style is definitely making a comeback!
Bentley loves the updated Sunice reversible vests. The new version is thicker to provide some warmth and being reversible it is even more versatile. The #1 thing about these vests is they can be worn on those chilly or windy days to keep you warm without restricting your swing.
Ping Sigma putters are a new line that have the ability to be adjusted to different lengths. With this new feature, simply use a wrench (just like when adjusting a driver) to change the height of the putter. A survey done by Ping proves that “8 of 10 golfers are playing the wrong-length putter, and that consistency improves when you can customize the length for your stroke and posture,” and this will be a game changer for many.
Logo hats and hats in general have always been one of our best selling items and this upcoming summer should be no different. We have designed a couple new logo hats with the latest fashion trends and I know these will be a big hit with our members.
Brice – Demo putter sets, Ecco shoes, Christmas Gifts
Our demo program has grown over the past few years and will continue to expand with the inclusion of demo putters from both Odyssey and Ping. We will offer demos of all the versions available in the Pro Shop and give you a chance to really try new putters before you buy.
Ecco golf shoes are premium footwear and they are awesome. With great styling, but more importantly excellent structure and craftsmanship, they will be a nice fit to our current line of shoes. It’s tough to enjoy the game if your feet hurt or you have troubles with your golf shoes.
While many of the products we view for the show are for spring, we are also on the look out for Christmas gifts. This year we’ve brought in several logo products perfect for the gift giving season. In particular, the toiletry bags and journals look great.
Lindsay – Columbia Golf ladies’ wear, Paula Creamer sunglasses, Skechers shoes
I’m always on the look out for something unique that gets me excited about next season. Columbia Golf ladies’ wear caught my eye and I think our ladies will love it. The fabrics are technical but still have a great feel, the colours pop and it’s a brand that many of our ladies already know and trust.
The return of Paula Creamer sunglasses! Incorporate some fashion into your functional sunglasses without getting too pricey. Each pair comes with a nice case and I know from personal experience they are great quality.
I already own several pairs of Skechers shoes and the new line up has again delivered. My favourites are the trendy rose gold colour and I love how they have a little sheen. Not only are Skechers extremely comfortable, but they have upped their style factor. Ladies, these will look outstanding with your golf dresses!
