Brett Burgeson - Director of Instruction

Brett grew up as a golfer and hockey player just North of Edmonton in a town called Westlock. In 1991, Brett starting working as an Assistant Pro at the Carstairs Golf Club where he eventually was named the Head Pro and held that position for 8 years. From Carstairs he went to the Windermere GCC in Edmonton for 4 seasons, then to Country Hills GC in Calgary for the last 12 seasons.

 

He has worked with beginning players as well as experienced golfers and works within philosophy that your swing is unique to you.  Video has been a staple of Brett’s teaching approach over the past 15 years and his iPad travels where he does.  He uses a program called V-One, which allows the student to see what he/she is doing and the differences between old and new.

The short game has been an area Brett has focused on intently over the last 12 years, running  many short game classes and posting short game videos to YouTube. Brett’s methods with chipping and putting have helped many golfers improve their game where it matters most.  Brett is a qualified club fitter and has 16 years experience finding the best combination of equipment for each player.

 

Brett has a wealth of playing experience and Championship success, the highlights being:

-1997 & 2011 PGA of Alberta Player of the Year

-2000, 2011, 2013 PGA of Alberta Champion

-2003, 2004, 2011 PGA of Alberta Club Professional’s Champion

Andrew Bentley - Head Professional

Alec Hubert - Executive Professional

Alec began his career at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club and was mentored by some of the National Capital Region’s best CPGA professionals. In 2011 he was awarded the Assistant Professional of the Year within the Ottawa Zone. Moving to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in 2014, Alec continued to hone his skills as an instructor and player. He won the Kootenay Pro Series Order of Merit and Tour Championships in both 2014 & 2015. Alec teaches students how to maintain control of their golf ball and uses Trackman technology to help students gain a clearer picture of their swing.
